We produce several programs and segments on social media to educate and inform our community. These segments focus on mental health education, prevention (crime, domestic accidents, abuse, etc.) entrepreneurship, civic awareness, history, caring for the environment, law, leadership, and community.
Martha Gomez, a therapist from MUSC's Hope program, addresses the Latino community using accessible language to educate on mental health issues. The topics covered include depression, domestic violence, suicide, human trafficking, emotional management, among others.
Information education about topics are discussed that educate, inform, or make our Latino community reflect. These topics include state laws, city codes, early childhood education, communication with schools, events of interest to the community, among others.
Our community correspondent researches and writes a short video segment every month where she reports and reflects on events, anniversaries, places of interest, and important developments related to the Lowcountry, the state of South Carolina, or the country.
These are short videos that specialize in environmental care and animal welfare topics, covering topics such as waste collection in parks and beaches to the sterilization and welfare of stray cats. We do this program in collaboration with the organization Latin Women of South Carolina (Mujeres Latinas de South Carolina).
