Connection, Education, and Integration.
We work to educate, connect, and integrate the community, providing the right tools for the integration and development of families and their communities. Through art, education, and community service we seek to expand capacities in different areas in collaboration and association with other organizations and institutions. We seek to reach the whole family and integrate different cultures, idiosyncrasies, and races towards a common good and with a civic conscience.
Our mission is to involve the high-risk communities as an active subject of their development, identifying their problems and helping them find answers and solutions.
As well as build a positive impact that generates opportunities and changes in thought and social life among different communities towards a better quality of life.

The name Art Pot is a play-on-words which includes part of our mission: educate with art,
and part of the essence of the Latin community: cooking in a pot.
In Latin culture, the "pot" is an everyday object. Family meals are cooked in a pot, and those meals harmoniously gather family and friends together.
"Cooking up ideas" is a concept used in some Latin cultures, so we see the "pot" as a symbol of family, unity,
and a symbol of seeking to forge new ideas for the common good.
We cook our ideas in our community pot, we cook with art, and our ingredients are the common
We cook ideas in our communal pot; we cook with art, and the ingredients are the common threads that unite all our communities.

Funded in February of 2015, Art Pot is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe, committed, and socially active communities. Although Art Pot primarily focuses on the Hispanic community, its work benefits all communities through three fundamental pillars: art, community leadership, and education.
Over these ten years, its volunteers, leaders, and Board of Directors have been members of the grassroots community. They are leaders who walk the streets listening to the needs of the population, leaders who are part of important changes both in their community and in the schools where their children attend, leaders who train and lead by example. Working from the people and for the people.
Art Pot believes that true progress requires education about local laws, systems, and institutions (government agencies, schools, health services, chaplaincies, among others), which is why it continually creates projects to promote civic participation and build a strong sense of belonging. It does this work in collaboration with various local government agencies in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties, as well as in various cities.
Art is fundamental to Art Pot's transformative mission, harnessing its creative power, its impact on emotional expression, communication, and the development of multiple skills. Considering art a vital tool for survival, growth, and holistic development, Art Pot's work in this area has had an impact throughout the state of South Carolina.
Art Pot has designed and executed creative urban projects such as the Dog Park, the Community Gates, the Hanahan Trail Benches, public murals at a Fire Station and a Homeless Center, among others. Art Pot has produced documentary films and creative videos, numerous theatrical productions, and workshops for both children and adults in theater and visual arts, along with other cultural presentations.
Art Pot has developed programs and implemented actions that have impacted community leadership, such as door-to-door visits to understand the needs of families, providing assistance or referring cases of mental health, domestic violence, crime, housing issues, and other social services.
In the educational field, Art Pot has disseminated educational messages via radio during its first three years, a work that continues to this day through social media (videos, live broadcasts, interviews, among others). It has also organized and developed in-person workshops, both led by the organization itself and in collaboration with other organizations.
Over the past three years, Art Pot has led a networking and training project in several schools to bridge the gap between parents and the educational institution, benefiting the present and future of our children and adolescents, and in collaboration with the Charleston County and Berkeley County school districts, achieving significant changes.
Today, Art Pot continues to work to strengthen at-risk communities as active agents of their own development. It provides guidance and support in finding solutions and promotes actions that create opportunities and positive impacts toward a better quality of life for all.
